I am convinced
that it is only through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ that we can
live a life that honors God. It is only as we seek after the Lord with all our
hearts learning to submit to Him through the pages of the Bible that we can
grow in our intimacy with Him. That is why I have a passion for teaching God's
Word. The writer to the Hebrews stated it this way:
Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper
than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between
joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. [13] Nothing
in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his
eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. (NLT)
The Bible
changes lives because it is alive and powerful. That is why I am committed to
studying, obeying, and teaching the Bible with God’s help to the best of my
abilities.

It is my desire to use the
musical talents and skills the Lord has given to so many at Open Door Bible
Church first of all to honor Him and then to minister to people. Our goal is to
have all ODBC musicians not think of their music as a performance but as an act
of worship to God and ministry to His people.
Paul
Paul Vander Mey is beginning
his 9th year as part-time music director at Open Door Bible Church.
Since coming to ODBC, under Paul’s leadership the music ministry has seen
steady growth, improved organization and quality, and expansion of the
opportunities for musicians. Paul’s desire is to find ministry opportunities
for musicians of all types and levels. As a result there are many musicians
ministering and serving the Lord in a variety of ways at Open Door.

My goal is to
equip the youth to know what they should believe, help them understand that
Christianity is a relationship with Christ not works, and to help them find
their working place in the Body of Christ. My prayer is that each teen that
goes out from this church will be a world changer who is not ashamed of Christ,
whether it is in full time ministry or in the work force. I STRONGLY believe
that revival in America
will come through the youth of today.
